Purulia / Ajodhya Hills
Why Purulia / Ajodhya Hills
Purulia is the western edge of West Bengal, a land of red soil, low hills and small dams. The Ajodhya Hills are the highest point in the district. It is the home of Purulia Chhau, a masked dance that tells stories from the epics. In the village of Charida, whole families make the masks by hand. We picked it for a retreat on storytelling: how to tell the story of what you are building so that people remember it.
For founders working on their pitch, brand story, or how they talk about their company.
What you'll do there
- Watch Chhau mask-makers at work in Charida
- Walks in the Ajodhya Hills and around the dams
- An evening Chhau performance, when possible
- A session on telling your company story in two minutes
