Valmiki Nagar
Why Valmiki Nagar
Valmiki Nagar sits in the far north-west corner of Bihar, where the state meets Nepal. The Gandak river comes down from Nepal and runs past the forest here. Across the border, the same jungle carries on into Chitwan National Park. It is Bihar's only tiger reserve. Mornings start with birdsong and jeep tracks, and the nearest big town is a couple of hours away. We picked it for the theme of this retreat: reset. No city, a weak phone signal and a lot of quiet. It is hard to keep doing busywork here, and that is the point.
Three days away from the screen, with founders who are building too. You leave with a 90-day plan the group has questioned.
What you'll do there
- An early jeep safari in Valmiki Tiger Reserve with a forest guide
- Morning by the Gandak river and the barrage
- Time with local Tharu community enterprises
- Small-group sessions, no laptops
- Write your 90-day plan and read it to your pod
