Ziro
Why Ziro
Ziro is a high valley in Arunachal Pradesh, home to the Apatani people. They grow rice and raise fish in the same terraced fields, a farming system that has worked for generations without tractors or chemical inputs. The valley is green, quiet and surrounded by pine-covered hills. Many people first hear of it through the Ziro Music Festival. We picked it for a retreat on systems and sustainability: what a system that runs well for a long time actually looks like, and what founders can take from it.
For founders designing operations, processes, or anything meant to last.
What you'll do there
- Walk through Apatani villages and their paddy-fish fields
- Learn how the community manages land and water together
- Pine forest walks around the valley
- A session on building systems that run without you
